He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Gen Mazzitelli, his son Mark Mazzitelli, and his daughter Alissa (Marcus) Zappia. He also leaves behind his granddaughter Sophia Zappia, his sister Mary Lou Bartz, his nieces Danielle Jurosky (John) and Stephanie Bartz, his cousin Louis Samela, and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Louis was a generous, kind-hearted, and compassionate man who resided in Kattelville, NY. He graduated from Kings College and did his graduate work at Binghamton University. He dedicated his career to education, serving as a social studies teacher at Greene Central School for 34 years. He was a faithful former member of St. Christopher's Church for 32 years and is now a member St. Francis of Assisi Church.
Louis was an avid Jets and Penn State fan and enjoyed reading. He was actively involved in the community through the Knights of Columbus and the New York State Teachers Association. His personal qualities and legacy are marked by his love for spending time with his family and his willingness to help others.

The family will receive friends at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1049 Chenango Street, Binghamton, NY 13901 on Saturday, October 4, 2025 from 9-10am with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10am. Burial will be in the Holy Spitit Cemetery. In lieu of flowers kindly consider donations to Mercy House or Catherine's Cupboard.
