

Margaret Rose Emmi, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony Emmi; Mother and Father, John and Mary Reilly Barry; daughter-in-law, Annette Emmi; sisters, Lillian and Cecelia Barry; brothers, Francis, Leo, Benedict and Donald Barry; sister-in-law and husband, Josephine and Bruno DelFavero; sister-in-law, Mary Emmi; grand son-in-law, Bruce Singleton. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Alfred and Kim Emmi; Richard Emmi; David Emmi and Linda Chaffee; Mark Emmi; Grandchildren, Sophia Emmi, Shannon Emmi, William and Dena Comfort, Kelly Singleton, Melissa and Jamie Hayes; great grandchildren, Andrew, Anthony and Emily Monk; William and Angelina Comfort; Macklyn and Maddox Hogan; Lucille Ann Singleton; brother-in-law, Dominic Emmi; sister-in-law, Josephine Barry; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Francis and Diane Emmi; sister-in-law, Theresa Emmi; mother-in-law, Palma Emmi; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Janet, Michelle, Joan, Duane and Tammy. She was born on June 8, 1925 in Moravia, NY. Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a kind soul who never had a bad word for anyone. She never raised her voice or got mad about anything. She had a great sense of humor and laughed at just about anything. She also loved music, entertainment TV, reading books, doing puzzles and walking at Otsiningo Park. She was a great cook with her Italian sauce being legendary throughout the family, friends and relatives. Along with her husband, she raised 4 sons and ran a business (Mayfair Motel) for over 20 years. We would like to thank the staff at Cortland Park Nursing Home and Cortland Hospice for their care in her final days.
Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 8:45 AM at the James V. DeMarco & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY and continue at 9:30 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will follow in Chenango Valley Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco & Son Funeral Home on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM.
