Michael L Smith

Michael L. Smith, 54, passed away after a 7 year Courageous Battle with Cancer on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. He was predeceased by his grandparents James & Lucille Wheeler, niece Selyna Withers, stepbrother Donnie Dillenbeck, uncles Ronald & Dennis Boucher.

He is survived by his son Dylan Schuldt, stepdaughter Brittany Powell and her husband Duane: mother & stepfather Susan & Donald Dillenbeck, sister Melissa Smith and her fiancé Urban Torto; grandchildren Chelsea, Mikayla and Kensley; stepson Dante, aunts and uncles Butch & Sue Boucher, Alan Wheeler and Sue Boucher; nieces and nephews Brandon, Samaya and Kaydence Withers; including his best friend Jay Staniec and special friends Dawn Jewett and Kristina Schuldt and many more friends and relatives.

Michael was the Owner and Operator of “The Shop” as it was always called. Everyone looked forward to him cooking steaks and his flip & dip chicken, Holiday Cookouts and throwing New Year’s Eve Parties. He enjoyed Traveling and working on Cars and was known as the “Camaro Kid” for many years. He took great pride in building his camp where his family and friends were always welcome.

Michael will be Forever Loved and Deeply Missed.

The family will receive friends at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 12-2pm with a Funeral Service to follow at 2pm. Burial will be in the Chenango Valley Cemetery.
