A proud United States Army Veteran, Milton later established a successful carpentry business. His passion for working with his hands was evident as he was always puttering with tools. He loved fishing, gardening, and hunting, pursuits that brought him joy throughout his life.
Milton was a wonderful father and grandfather, known for being a dedicated provider. He was mischievously playful and possessed a great sense of humor, often delighting those around him with his one-line jokes.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Betty Carpenter, and his second wife, Thorine Carpenter. Milton was also preceded in death by his parents, George and Mildred Carpenter, his brothers Donnie Tanner, Russell Carpenter, and Gordon Carpenter, his sister Esther Oresket, his son-in-law Clyde Doolittle, and his grandson-in-law Travis Yerdon.
Milton is survived by his son, Dennis Carpenter, Sr. (Lindy), his daughter Christina Doolittle, and his grandchildren Dennis Carpenter, Jr. (Susie), Tim Carpenter (Asia), Angela Yerdon, and Heather Plescia (Vinny). He also leaves behind several great-grandchildren, as well as his siblings Clarence, Joe & Barb, Rachael, Marybelle and Millie, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends at the Light House Community Church, 103 Main Street, Windsor, NY on Thursday, January 1, 2026, from 1-2pm with a funeral service to follow at 2pm. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in the spring.
