Ronald L. Briggs

Ronald L. Briggs, 76,of Hillcrest, went to be in the arms of the Lord on Sunday, May 16, 2021. Ron was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Gary. Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Donna M. Briggs and his daughters, Robin & Alan Dutcher of Conneaut, OH., Tami & J. C. Counts of San Jose, CA., grandchildren, Scott & Shannon, Justin & Jennifer, Kristin & Caleb, Jonathan & Mercy, Hannah & Thomas, Alyssa & Foster and Connor & Kyleigh, great grandchildren, Evander, Mason, Liam, Jon Mark, Ellianna, Joy, Rachel, Michael, Giada, Oliver, Evelyn, Hawthorn, Dana, Elodie, Joanie, sister, Cherie MacDonald, sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Rich Clauss) Davis and Phyllis Jensen also several nieces & nephews. Ron was a U. S. Navy Veteran Beach Jumper that served during the cold war where after he continued his service with the Department of Defense locally working with Link and the Bae until his retirement after 30 years, he was a Member for many years with the American Legion Post 1194 in Hillcrest where he served as Post Chaplain. He was also a member of the Full Life Church in Sidney, NY. In addition he was a former member of the Hillcrest Volunteer Fire Dept. for 10 years. He loved the out of doors which included, Fishing, Hunting and camping. Ron was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, he will be dearly missed by all. A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Post 1194 in Hillcrest on Monday, May 24, 2021 starting at 12 noon. He will receive Military Honors at a Graveside Service at the Chenango Valley Cemetery at the convenience of his family.
