Sally Eileen Newman, 70, left this world way too soon on April 18, 2026 after a short, courageous, and hard-fought battle with colon cancer. She now rests in peace with her parents, Donald and Betty Newman.
Sally was a longtime motorcycle enthusiast who almost set the record for most bikes bought in a year (5, but who’s counting), and twice won the high mileage contest (but who’s counting). She retired from UHS 4 or 5 times (but who’s counting), loved casinos and won many (who’s counting) mostly small jackpots. She enjoyed completing jigsaw puzzles as if they were nothing but always said “this is a hard one”. She spent her time walking (more miles than anyone but who’s counting), traveling to many (who’s counting) places, and playing cards at the local senior centers three days a week (but who’s counting).
Sally is leaving behind Martin Narozny (Mark, Mart), her partner-in-life of 43 years who has been a devoted husband, companion, and exemplary father to her little bundle of joy, Lisa Marie Natishak. He was her advocate and source of comfort, strength, and protection through what turned out to be her end-of-life journey.
Sally is also survived by her siblings and siblings-in-law: Donald (Beatrice) Newman, Dennis (Anita) Newman, David Hall, Patrica (Albert) Slack, Sandi (John) Scarlett (her twin, whose home became Sally’s Florida haven), Cee (Brent) Garcia, Aggie (Jim) Dedrick, and Joe (Robin) Narozny; many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews from coast to coast and in-between who were very dear to her, and in spite of the distance she made great effort to see and get to know; many dear friends, and her BFFs Linda and Julie, with whom she enjoyed a monthly girls night out.
Sally herself wanted to thank the nurses, nursing assistants, and Palliative Care Team of UHS Wilson Medical Center for their professionalism and compassionate care; as well as special cousins Dusty and Barb Purdy for providing spiritual care in her time of need.
The family will receive friends at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 1-2pm with a Celebration of Sally's Life to follow at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Every Cat’s Dream or your local Fire Department or Senior Center, AND GO GET A COLONOSCOPY.
