

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Joseph & Marion Liberto; sister Marie Cianciosi; nieces and nephews Joseph & Molly Liberto, Shari & Michael George, Yvonne & Charles Smolinsky, Nick & Barbara Cianciosi, Robert & Gladys Cianciosi; great nieces and nephews Reilly, Vincent, Quinn, Eric, Vanessa, Allison, Keith, Zachary, Matthew, Caroline, Gisele and Kevin; great great nieces and nephews Wesley, Jared and Paige and a special friend Maria Tinklepaugh. Sam was a graduate of Binghamton North High School and State University College at Oneonta. He was a Binghamton City School District Mathematics teacher for 33 years. He was a member of the Association of Mathematics Teachers of NYS, the NYS Retired Teachers Assn, the Eastern Broome Branch of NYSRTA-Southern Zone, the NEA-NY Retired and the NYS United Teachers. Sam was a member and usher of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and its Nocturnal Adoration Society. Sam treated his nieces and nephews like his own children. He was devoted to his family, lived his faith, had a loving and generous spirit and touched many people's lives. Sam loved to travel in the US and abroad, going to the movies and visiting Starbucks on a regular basis. The Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 9-10am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 37 Fayette Street, Binghamton. A Funeral Mass will be offered immediately following at 10am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
