Shirley A. Hurd

Shirley was employed at Binghamton Psychiatric Center for 25 years, making many lasting friendships and memories. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Shirley enjoyed cooking, planting flowers, frequently redecorating her home, and watching every Yankees game. She was an avid card and bingo player, and all who knew her enjoyed her wit and humor.

She is survived by her daughters, Michele Masarech (Martin) and Renee O’Brien. Her cherished grandchildren, Bobby Rolston, Alexis Rolston, Ashley Bolton (David), Marita Aguilar (Alex), Martin Masarech (Nicole), Caitlin Kaplan (Mark) and Erin O’Hearn (Jason). Also her beloved great-grandchildren; Vincent, Camilla, Sophia, Julia, Owen, Amelia, AJ, and Baby Aguilar. She leaves behind her twin sister and best friend, Charlotte Petryszyn, sister, Janet Beamer, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She joins her beloved husband, John Hurd, her angel daughter, Patricia Rolston, and son, Michael Jarrard. She is predeceased by her siblings, Pearl, Venora, Marlene, Florence, Nate, Warren, Jerry, Jim, Donald and Vernon.

The family will receive friends at the Wm. R. Chase Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson, NY 13901 on Monday, February 19, 2024 from 11am- 12:30pm with a Funeral Service to follow at 12:30 p.m.
