Sylvia J. Hassett, 75, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, February 21, 2013. She was predeceased by her son, Lee Michael. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Walter; sons, David and Rose Hassett, James Hassett, Kirk Hassett, Scott Hassett; grandchildren, Matthew, Michele, Kirk, Khira, Sarah and Georgia; brother, Howard (Jack) Sherman; sisters, Barbara and Jerry Hollenbeck; numerous, nieces and nephews; her cat, Dickens. Sylvia loved everyone and was loved by all who knew her. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY. The family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
