Terry L. Farr

Terry L. Farr, age 74, of Apalachin and formerly of Whitney Point passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Johnson City the youngest son of the late Oscar Richard and Loretta Marjorie (Houseknecht) Farr.

Terry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carole (Watts) Farr; three children, Michelle and Rick Weber (Maine, NY), Danielle and Lance Odell (Oneonta, NY) and Kevin and Jessica Farr (Stow, MA); four grandchildren, Brittany Weber and fiancé Jon Metera, Jordan Odell and Jackson and Ethan Farr; one brother, Tom and Bev Farr; sisters-in-law, Ann Farr, Sharon Farr, Sandra Edwards and Marlene Klock; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers, Tony and Ted Farr and brothers-in-law, Dane Edwards and Bob Klock.

Terry worked at IBM and Lockheed Martin in Owego for 35 years until his retirement in 2008. Terry’s interests in life were as large as his laugh. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed spending time following the athletic lives of both his children and grandchildren, was a season ticket holder for BU Men’s and Women’s Basketball, and spent time in retirement watching the Binghamton Mets leading to various jobs at the stadium. Over the years Terry’s love for the outdoors was proven by the time spent hunting and fishing with family and countless friends. Terry’s passion for cars made him both an avid race fan and classic car enthusiast. This led to his final job as a rental transport driver for the Avis/Budget Group. In spite of all his interests, his greatest joys in life came from spending time with his family, especially his beloved Carole.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022 in the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Ed Maslin officiating. Masks will be required.
