

Raymond Thomas Bielefeldt, surrounded by his family, went peacefully to be with the LORD Friday February 19, 2021, at age 67. Tom was a devoted husband and father of two daughters. He was born in Oak Park, Illinois August 1953 to Edward and June (Baker) Bielefeldt. Tom is predeceased by both of his parents. Tom is survived by his loving wife Gail (Penfield) and two beautiful daughters Rachel and Tamara; Sister Julie Albert and Brother John Bielefeldt, Sisters-in-law and Brothers-In-Law, Holly and Michael Lurenz, Dwight and Sharon Penfield, and John and Grace Penfield; nieces and nephews, Hannah and Jonathon Astor, Sarah Penfield, Ryan Albert, Eric, Kyle, and Kristen Bielefeldt. He faithfully served the United States Navy for over 38 years, during that time he earned the United States Navy Achievement Medal on two separate occasions as well as many other awards. Tom was Executive Director of the Broome County Medical Society for 12 years, he also earned his MBA from Marywood University, and enjoyed his 15-year career at McNeil Insurance Company, where he earned his CPCU in 2018. Tom was a devote Christian man who Loved life, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and travel. He was a dear friend to many, true outdoorsman who loved his Bear, Caribou, and Moose hunts and fishing trips. Tom never missed an opening day of Deer Season. He was an active member of the Broome County Sportsman association, loved History and was an avid reader as well as Buffalo Bills fan. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and faithful dog Montague. Calling hours will be held Friday February 26th from 4pm-7pm at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Binghamton NY, and the funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday February 27th at Central Baptist Church, 1606 NY-12, Binghamton NY.
