

Binghamton: Walter Hunt, 87, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 16, 2013. Walter was born on June 13, 1925 in Forty Fort, PA. He was the son of the late George and Pearl Hunt and was predeceased by four sisters and one brother. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Florence (Robbins), their five children: Walter (Edilu) Hunt, Carol (George) Jones, Donna Edwards, Sandra (Larry) Cross, and Sharon (Edward) Spencer, 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Walter was a NAVY veteran who served in Guam during WWII. He retired from Chesapeake (formerly Binghamton Container) in 1988 after 34 years of service. It was the simple things in life that Walter enjoyed the most: spending time with family, long drives, picnics, fairs, music, playing cards, and rooting for the NY Yankees with his wife. He was dearly loved and will be sadly missed. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson. Burial will be at Mt Zion Cemetery in Harding, PA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 22, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
