Albert David Greengold, 81, of Holtsville, NY, passed away on September 22, 2025. He was born on February 28, 1944, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and was the beloved husband of Marsha for 59 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, shared adventures, and cherished memories.
Albert was a devoted father to Scott (Carol) and Lorrie Prescott (Brian), and a proud grandfather to Savannah Prescott, Hunter Prescott, and Jayson Greengold. Family meant everything to Albert, and he treasured every moment spent with them. Though he was often the quietest in the room, his wit and humor were unmatched, leaving those around him in stitches with his dry, subtle jokes.
Albert had many passions, especially sports—he enjoyed bowling, softball, and above all, golfing. A loyal Yankees fan, he rarely missed a game, and kept a good-natured tolerance for the Giants.
When it came to music, Albert didn’t just listen casually—he was a lifelong Parrot Head who loved the laid-back storytelling style of Jimmy Buffett and other musicians who could spin a good tale.
Albert was a quiet but natural “social mayor,” with an easygoing nature that helped him make friends wherever he went. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people, and was genuinely liked by everyone who knew him.
A private cremation has taken place, and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
