Edna M. Franghiadi, of Lake Ronkonkoma, NY, passed away on October 23, 2025, at the age of 95. A longtime resident of Farmingdale, Stony Brook, and Lake Grove, Edna was born on December 29, 1929, in Brooklyn, NY.
She was the beloved wife of the late Richard H. Franghiadi, and the loving mother of Susan Gottesman (Mark) and Patricia Gatto (Robert). Edna’s family was her greatest joy, and she was a devoted grandmother to Lauren Gawreluk (Billy), Brian Gottesman (Kristina), Timothy Gatto, and Patrick Gatto (Alyssa). She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Leila, Chloe, Jacob, Benjamin, and Selena, who brought endless happiness to her life.
In her earlier years, Edna was very active in her community. She was an integral member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Farmingdale and participated in the Rotary Club. Her love for life extended to her passions, which included playing cards, especially with her grandchildren—her favorites being Kings in the Corner and Help Your Neighbor. She also enjoyed spending time at bingo games and could always be found shopping, with an eye for style. Edna was known for always being impeccably dressed, loving her time spent getting her hair and nails done, and maintaining a radiant presence wherever she went.
