Eleanor V. Meagher

Eleanor was the devoted wife of the late Thomas F. Meagher and a loving mother to Elaine Wood. Eleanor was also a beloved mother-in-law to Thomas and Jennifer Meagher, and a cherished grandmother to Matthew Wood, Sarah Wood, and Sullivan Meagher.

Eleanor was known for her warm spirit and kindness. She retired as a customer service representative in 2001 and soon after, made a life-changing decision to move to Ireland, a place she adored. It was there that she embraced a simpler, yet joy-filled lifestyle.

In her free time, Eleanor was an avid player of Monopoly and Scrabble, games she enjoyed immensely with her family and friends. She loved to swim in the pool, and shopping was her ultimate passion—whether it was for a special gift for a loved one or simply indulging in a bit of retail therapy.

Eleanor’s family was the center of her world, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her warmth, sense of humor, and dedication to her family will forever be remembered.

Visitation will be held at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, located at 4839 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776, on August 28, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and again from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will take place at St Gerard Majella RC Church, 300 Terryville Rd, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776, on August 29, 2025, at 10:00 am.
