Gloria Schaefer

She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Carmen Sepulveda. She married the late George Schaefer at the end of WWII and traveled extensively along the East Coast during his 20 year Naval career before they settled in NY.

She is survived by her daughter Patricia (Susan) and son George (Michael), sister Carmen and brother Robert (Travis) and cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband George, and her brothers Earl and Richard.

Gloria was a gentle, caring and kind soul . She would always extend a helping hand to those that needed it. She was devoted to her family and their happiness was paramount to her. And she was never happier than when presiding over Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners or backyard cookouts. She was an avid poker player, puzzle solver, and bowler with her friends from Brookhaven Seniors.

She will be laid to rest at Calverton National Cemetery next to her husband George. The family asks that a donation be given to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
