John was born and raised in Astoria, New York to parents John Sr. and Anne Watson. John served in the US Army and was stationed in Europe. He met the love of his life, Eleanor nee Simboli, in Astoria and remained there until they moved to Port Jefferson Station, NY with their young daughter to grow their family.
John was an avid train enthusiast and model train collector. Somehow, every family vacation destination always had a railroad nearby. John was always with his camera to preserve family milestones & memories and the Trains. A Tool & Dye Maker by trade, nothing in our house ever remained broken and gifts from Dad were sometimes what he built for us. He loved to share with his children and grandchildren the joy of his basement train layout - "running the trains".
Although the vessel that once carried his beautiful soul is no longer with us, the light remains. That light is in our hearts and minds today and always.
John was blessed with a beautiful wife of 68 years, Eleanor. Four children Teri, William, Maria & John. Grandchildren Daniel, Jude, James & Natalie. Son-in-laws Ralph & Patrick and Daughter-in-laws Lydia & Justine. Our sadness is great but our gratitude is greater for having you in our lives.
John, Dad, Daddy, Pop, Grandpa, PaPa - Rest in Peace and know you will always be in our hearts forever. We Love You.
