Born on August 13, 1931, in Brooklyn, NY, Louise was a woman of warmth, strength, and deep devotion to her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael J. Ponella, and together they built a life rooted in love, tradition, and cherished memories.
Louise was the loving mother of Michael (Josephine), Ronald (Lyn), and Debra Dito (Michael). She was the proud and cherished grandmother of Jason, Michael (Nicole), Justin (Kara), Laina (Anthony), Jesse (Savannah), and Marissa (Jordan). Her legacy continues through her adored great-grandchildren: Emily Grace, Liana Michelle, Michael Stephen, and Sienna Josephine.
Family meant everything to Louise. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her home was always filled with laughter, love—and the mouthwatering aroma of her legendary Italian cooking. Known especially for her Eggplant Parmigiana, Louise's meals brought everyone together and created lasting memories around the table.
A woman of many interests, Louise was a sharp Scrabble player, an avid fan of bingo, pokino, bowling, and crossword puzzles. She was a loyal supporter of the New York Mets and rarely missed a chance to cheer them on. A music lover at heart, she especially enjoyed the classics from the 1940s to the 1970s, with favorites including Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, and Nat King Cole.
Louise lived a full, beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and grace. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
