Cipriano Salinas Cervantes, 81, of Tivoli passed away August 28, 2025. He was born October 23, 1943, at the O’Connor Ranch in Tivoli, TX to Domingo G. and Francisca Cervantes. Cipriano was retired from Dow where he worked for over 40 years and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, in Tivoli.
Our beloved Cip was a cherished Husband, Father, and Popo who made an enduring impact on those around him. He took great pride in maintaining his yard, enjoyed spontaneous trips to Coushatta, and especially valued hosting family gatherings and preparing barbecue meals. His generosity was evident through his support within the local community.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy J. Cervantes; daughters, Carol Jean Solis (Frank), Christine Marie Cortez (Gilbert); nephew-son, Joe Fuentes (Maygan); sister, Trine Salinas; brothers, Juan Cervantes (Dora), Gregorio Cervantes (Dolores); grandchildren, Gabrielle Duenez (Pablo), Lynzi Mendietta (Jonathan), Cecilia Cortez (Anthony), Cipriano Solis, Frankie Solis Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Aliyah Mendietta, Ulises Godines and Baby Godines (expected).
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Guadalupe, Gonzalo and Jose Cervantes.
Visitation for immediate family will commence on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home in Port Lavaca, TX. (361) 552-9766. Church services are scheduled for Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church located in Tivoli, TX.
The pallbearers are as follows: Pablo Duenez, Joe Fuentes, Anthony Godines, Jonathan Mendietta, Cipriano Solis, Frankie Solis Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Arturo Cervantes, Domingo Cervantes, Gilbert Cortez, Sam Deluna Jr. and Frank Solis.
Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Tivoli or St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Austwell.
At the request of the family, a meal will not be provided following the mass services.
