Esmerejilda "Hilda" Farias

Esmerejilda (Hilda) Arenas Farias, 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday night July 21, 2015 surrounded by her son and grandchildren. She was born April 13, 1934 to Juan and Celestina Castillo Arenas in Kenedy, Texas.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Valentine Rocky Farias; son, Valentino Rocky Farias, Jr, (Mita); granddaughter, Marisol Farias; son, Antonio Celestino Farias, Sr; granddaughter, Kristi Sauceda; grandsons, Antonio Celestino Farias, Jr, and Paolo (Paul) Farias; brothers, Domingo Arenas, Vicente (Victoria) Arenas of Kenedy, sister Aurora (Buddie) Galvan of Port Lavaca and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Juan Arenas, Sr. and mother, Celestina Castillo Arenas; brothers Johnny (Bear), Dionicio (Nicho), and sisters, Juanita (Janie) Padron and Julia Garza.

She worked for 25 years with the Calhoun CISD as a teacher’s aide. She was a faithful and active member at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. She was a long-time member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus organization. She loved to sing and volunteer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She will be dearly missed.

A visitation will be held Friday, July 24, 2015 from 6-7 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens.
