

Judith Darlene Daniel went home to be with the Lord after a short battle with lung cancer on the morning of April 12, 2010. She lived in Port Lavaca, Texas for the last 37 years of her life. She was born on July 26th in Austin, Texas to the late Ruth Eva Buckner and Early Ervin (E.E.) Baker.
Darlene was a devoted Christian woman and a very active member at Christ Community Church. She also held a passion about education in her heart and worked for CCISD for 24 years as a Content Mastery Aide.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 38 years, Robert Lee Daniel, III; daughters, Jennifer Daniel Kahle (Douglas) of Lewisville, Amy Elizabeth Daniel of Port Lavaca; sons, Steven Wesley Stricklin (Rebecca) of Burleson, Mark Allan Stricklin (Melody) and David Scott Stricklin all of Port Lavaca. She also leaves behind a faithful and loving companion, her boston terrier, Missy.
Also surviving Darlene, sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Daniel Jenkins; nieces, Elizabeth Rosenblath Heiser and Nancy Jenkins Bryne; nephews, Philip Rosenblath III and William Jenkins; 3 grandchildren, Stephanie, Kasey and Nicholas Stricklin and 2 great-grandchildren, Laith Moore and Landen Stricklin; 3 grand-dogs that she adored like children, Winston, Dottie and Divot.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, E.E. Baker, Jr.; her first husband, Wesley Davidson Stricklin and beloved sister-in-law, JoAnn Daniel.
The Daniel and Stricklin families would like to extend a sincere thank you for the ongoing prayers from everyone and her church, Christ Community Church that she called home with special thanks to Pastor Dean Holford. Also sincere thank you to the medical staff that our mother received for the last month at Citizens. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to your jobs to take care of our loved one. You are all special to us in taking care of our precious mother.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to a special account set up for her to defray medical expenses from ongoing medical treatment which has been set up in her name “Judith Daniel” at Wells Fargo Bank, Port Lavaca.
A time of visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from the Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. A celebration of Judith’s life will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the Cornerstone Assembly of God with Pastor Dean Holford officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Victoria.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Stricklin, Philip Rosenblath III, David Heiser, Douglas Kahle, John Wittkohl and J.R. Garcia.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. John McNeill, Dr. Yusuke Yahagi, Dr. John White, Dr. Kirby Smith and Tommy Hargrove.
