June Gerking of Seadrift, Texas went to be with the Lord on October 17,2025. She was born in San Benito, Texas to the late Thomas Edward Morris and Vandola Alberta Morris on June 4, 1936. She married Frank Albert Gerking Sr. on June 6, 1954.
June started her Fire Department passion in Pasadena, Texas with the Ladies Pumper Races. She continued her passion when she moved to Seadrift, Texas by joining the Seadrift Fire Department and a few years later became an EMT. She served with Seadrift for over 50 years. June also loved to craft whether it be sewing, floral or jewelry. In 2019 June went to live at Twin Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation in Victoria. Her room at Twin Pines was decorated with all kinds of handmade items. The ladies at the nursing home would ask if they could come in and shop.
June is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Gerking Sr., her father, Thomas Morris, her mother, Vandola Morris, and her brother Clyde Thacker. Ironically, her brother and her passed away on the same date 16 years apart.
June is survived by her daughter, Jenny McGrew (Keith), daughter, Yvonne Dudley (Ricky), and son, Frank Gerking Jr. (Shari). Also, by her grandchildren, Jamie Carter (Rita), Casey Carter (Heather), Ricky Dudley (Donna), Kristi Dudley, Frankie Wilson (Jacob), Frank Gerking III, Bryan McGrew (Sheryl), Charlie Friesenhahn (Tara), Kristi Stehling, Marissa Lenhart (Tyler), Rebecca Malone (Shawn). She has 25 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren with 3 more on the way.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2025 from 5-7PM at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 2PM at Cowboy Fellowship of Port Lavaca with burial to follow at Seadrift Cemetery. Pallbearers are John Dufner, Butch Starkweather, Ricky Carter, Tim Millspaw, Kenny Finster and Boyd Stalloch. There will be a reception after the burial at the Cowboy Fellowship Church, 4758 US HWY 87 in Port Lavaca.
Memorial donations may be given to the Seadrift Fire Department, Cowboy Fellowship of Port Lavaca, or Crown Hospice of Victoria.
