You don't know me , but I knew your mom; and  I'm so sorry to hear about her passing. My sister, Margie, and Linda were good friends at Calhoun High School. My favorite memory about your mom is when she was in Groves visiting our family. We (Margie, Linda, Poncho, and I ) drove to Vinton, LA to party. Fun, but not TOO much fun if you know what I mean. That next day we all went to church.  It was crowded, so we headed to the choir loft. My Mom and Margie found a  seat  close to the stairs, but unfortunately for your mom, she followed me straight across the loft  into the boiler room. We were too embarrassed to come out, so we spent the  entire mass sweating, laughing, and hiding in that hot little room. We missed the sermon IN church and I expected to hear one from my mom after, but Margie and Mom spent the entire mass  laughing, too.  My family loved to tell that story and I'll always remember your mother's sense of humor.

My deepest sympathies to you Tonia and your family. As I told you before, your mom was a lovely lady inside and out. Always enjoyed our talks when I'd see her. She made me feel like she'd known me all her life. You can tell the type person she was by the daughter she raised. A gem. Sending love to all of you. Aunt Glynis

I am so sorry for your loss of dear Linda.  She had a larger than life personality and an ever-present smile! She was smart and was my daughter’s favorite math teacher. She and I taught together for many years at Travis MS and then again at CHS. When she came into a room, it lit up because of her effervescent personality! She was the life of the party and will be sorely missed by those who knew her.

     Please accept our condolences on the passing of your mother, Linda.  My husband, James, and I both went to school w/ Linda and we were in band with her.  We have so very many fond memories of her with her wonderful smile and contagious laugh.  And I always enjoyed working with Linda on our reunions post graduation.  The world is far less bright with her passing! You all remain in our prayers.

Mrs. Jurica was such a fantastic math teacher.  She was the kind of teacher who brought energy & joy to the classroom, obviously enjoying her job. I always admired her beauty & style as well. My condolences to her friends and family upon her passing ❤️

A beautiful lady in so many ways and so full of cheer and joy for all. 

Always the same Linda through out her life! She will be missd by me. Her smile was so sweet and kind so sorry for her family.

I am so sorry to hear of Ms. Jurica's passing.
I was a first year teacher and a Yankee transplant from Wisconsin. She was welcoming, warm and kind. Passionate about helping me be the best teacher I could, she displayed a confidence in my abilities that I had yet to find. As a teacher for nearly 30 years now, I cannot express my gratitude for her presence in those early years. And I cannot imagine the path of love she left for ya'll to follow.

A quick story: I had a student, another Yankee transplant from Michigan, take leave of me as she was there. Except Ms. Jurica kept him back.  It took some time, and some clarification on all of our parts, but that day two Yankees learned a lesson in the importance of "Yes, ma'am." Always teaching, always learning.


 Ms Linda Jurica will forever be in our hearts.  We’ve been missing you for a while now and will miss you forever. I was blessed to have worked with her for over 20 years.  She was an awesome person.  Her humor was infectious and she was always kind and supportive.  Finally got her pumpkin log recipe from Tonia and my daughter made them just like Linda use to.  Her “son of a quinche” sarcasm lives on.  Rest in peace my friend.

Linda was an amazing teacher, friend, and mentor.  She worked hard for the students and teachers and she always had a smile to share. My sincere condolences to her family and friends. May she rest in the mercy of God forever. 

Linda was a joy to be around. I can still hear her laugh and see her sparkly eyes. She was fun to work with and to have fun with on trips and at out of town conferences. She laughed with us, at us and at herself.  Linda, I know your eyes are sparkling again and you are laughing out loud. Your job here on earth is done and it was a job well done. Goodbye my old friend. 

I had Mrs Jurica as a math teacher and I loved her.  My sympathies to her daughter and family.  

Rest in peace Linda you were so special. You were the best sister anyone could ask for. Thank you for all you did. Rest in heaven with Thomas and your mom and dad and Edna and Herman.
