Mary Lou Montgomery Bindewald

Mary Lou Montgomery Bindewald, 86, of Seadrift, Texas, passed away November 17, 2012. She was born January 3, 1926 in Bay City, Texas, to the late Otis and Mary McLendon Montgomery. She earned her Nursing degree from Baylor University in 1948. In 1949, she married M.B. “Bert” Bindewald and they moved to Seadrift and began farming and ranching. She retired from Dupont with 15 years of service as a Registered Nurse. Mary Lou is survived by brother, Duncan Otis Montgomery; nieces, Mary McGuire and Barbara Hotaling; nephews, Tim and Mark Montgomery; great-nephews, Jamie, Joshua and Jeremy Kirby; Jake McGuire; Gareth, Zach, Brian, Michael, Matthew, Mark, T.J. and Samuel Montgomery; great-nieces, Stephanie Kirby; Brady McGuire; Nadine Pruitt; Molly, Natasha, Miah and Laurel Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert; parents, Otis Montgomery and Mary McLendon Montgomery; and nephews, John Patrick and Thomas Scott Montgomery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Richardson Colonial Funeral Home in Port Lavaca. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Richardson Colonial Funeral Home with her nephew Jamie Kirby officiating. Burial will follow at the Seadrift Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jaime, Joshua and Jeremy Kirby; Mary Montgomery McGuire; and Gareth and Tim Montgomery. Honorary Pallbearers are Walter Dierlam, Tommy Stanfield, Tom Sanders, Bob London and John F. Smith III. Memorials may be made to The Hospice of South Texas or the charity of your choice.
