

On August 29, 2012 we lost and God gained a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Mavely Mary Frederick. She was born February 4th, 1923 in New Iberia, Louisiana, to the late Laureal and Olita Comeaux Fremin.
As a young woman she worked as a waitress at Mother Deare’s in New Iberia and was a manager at MooMoo’s in Port Lavaca. She was a homemaker, member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, member of the Altar Society and Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. Mavely was a loving mother and devoted wife and will be missed greatly by those that knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy L. Mitchell and husband, Jamie of the Woodlands; sons, Ricky D. Frederick and wife, Margaret “Peggy” of Hilo, Hawaii, Chuck Frederick and wife, Debbie of Austin, Kim Frederick and Wendy Pratt of Corpus Christi; sister, Shirley McDonald and husband Duane of San Pablo, California; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson John Frederick; parents and sister, Effie Fabre.
Visitation will be held Friday August 31st, from 6 – 7pm at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home with a rosary to begin at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, September 1st, at 2pm at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Gardens.
Pallbearers are her grandchildren, her son-in-law, and a friend of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic School.
