Paul Abraham

Paul Abraham, 90, of Olivia passed away Monday, March 2, 2020, in Port Lavaca. He was born December 31, 1929 in Olivia to Albert and Ethel Peterson Abraham. Paul worked at Alcoa for 35 years as a millwright, and after his retirement, he enjoyed running a ranching business, "Running A Ranch", with his brother Wayne, and his sons, Scott and Jim. He was very proud that "Running A Ranch" received the award for Conservation Ranch of the year. He loved his family and never met a stranger. You could always find him riding around checking cows or visiting a neighbor.

He attended Caranchaua Chapel where he served as an elder for many years. Paul enjoyed teaching Sunday School, reaching the youth to serve Christ and being a true Christian follower. Paul also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War conflict.

Paul is survived by the love of his life, Gail Sexton Abraham, whom he married on August 20, 1954, and celebrated 65 years of wedded bliss on August 20, 2019. He is also survived by his two sons, Jim Abraham (Terri) and Scott Abraham (Allyson); daughter, Janice Abraham; sister, Charlotte Abraham; brothers, Allen Abraham (Audene), Wayne Abraham (Betty Jo), and Dale Abraham (Jan); brother-in-law, John Garland; and grandchildren, Nick Abraham, Eric Abraham, Stephanie Sippel (Billy), Melanie Nunley (Hunter), and Courtney Abraham.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Joann Abraham and Gail Garland; and brother, Carol Abraham (Jo Marie).

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you consider donating to Olivia Cemetery or Olivia/Port Alto Community Center in his honor.

A Memorial Service is being held Friday, March 6, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home.
