Raymond Cole Evins Jr.

Raymond Cole Evins Jr., 84, of Port Lavaca, Texas passed away on Thursday, December 10th after a courageous battle with cancer. Raymond was born in Victoria, Texas on August 24th, 1931 to Irene and Raymond Evins Sr. Raymond married his high school sweetheart Jo Ann Evins on Saint Patrick’s Day in 1951 on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years and was employed by Alcoa for 35 years.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jo Ann Evins of Port Lavaca and his brother Howard Evins, also of Port Lavaca. He is also survived by three sons and one daughter: Dennis Evins and wife Patsy Evins; David Evins and wife Linda Evins; Janet Petersen and husband Bill Petersen; and Danny Evins. He is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Preceeding Raymond in death are his parents, Irene and Raymond Evins, Sr. and son Patrick Shawn Evins.

Visitation and Rosary will take place at Richardson Colonial Funeral Home on Sunday, December 13th at 7 PM. Funeral and Mass will be held Monday, December 14th, at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church.
