

Mr. White was a Mason for more than 50 years, member of the VFW, served on the Calhoun County Appraisal Board, Boy Scout Leader, served on Calhoun County Senior Citizens Board of Directors and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Port Lavaca. He served his country in the Merchant Marines during WWII and was a paratrooper during the Korean War. He was retired from Alcoa as an Instrument Technician and was the owner of White’s Mobiland. After retirement he and his wife, Jackie would spend the majority of their time in their RV traveling across Texas and they were avid bird watchers.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jackie White of Port Lavaca whom he married August 27, 1948; son, John White of Port Lavaca; and sister, Evelyn Milligan of Shreveport, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Melinda “Mindy” White and brothers, T.C. and Raymond White.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 4-6 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Carl Westbrook officiating. Interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. in Nockenut Cemetery outside of Nixon.
Pallbearers are Lindy Forster, Dick Nolen, Christopher McGee, Darrell Forster, Virgil Martin and Otto Tyson.
Honorary Pallbearers are the First National Bank Round Table Coffee Club and his Whataburger Coffee Buddies.
