

Rene H Carrion, 79, of Port Lavaca passed away June 13, 2012. He was born April 13, 1933 in Hebbronville, TX to the late Maximiliano Carrion and Maria deJesus Huerta Carrion. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Seadrift and was retired from Calhoun County. He worked on many cattle ranches and raised his own cattle. He was a member of the Calhoun County Youth Rodeo Association for 40 years, the Sacred Heart Society, former Knight of Columbus, 4-H Leader for many years and in June 2010 the Calhoun County Youth Rodeo Association dedicated the rodeo to him for his many years of dedicated service.
He is survived by his wife, Lucia Carrion of Port Lavaca; children, Susan Robinson (Larry) of Allen, Rene Carreon (Denise) of Sweeny, Dianna Kile of Sweeny, Max Carrion (Tanya) of Bay City, Pete Carreon (Bertha) of Sweeny and Lucia Carrion Barnes (Robbie) of Benbrook; 2 sisters; 1 brother; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and one brother.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 15, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary to follow at 7 at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, Port Lavaca. Interment will follow in Port Lavaca Cemetery.
Pallbearers are his grandsons, Felix Lopez III, Montgomery Carreon, Ryan Castillo, Justin Robinson, Cody Carreon and Colton Carrion. Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren, Amber Carreon, Erin Carreon, Shelby Carrion, Alison Carrion, Caitlyn Carreon, Aiden and Greyson Barnes.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Seadrift.
