

Robert Clifton Cooper Sr., 87, surrounded by family, peacefully went to his heavenly home on Thursday, February 6th after a long illness due to complications brought on by Alzheimer and Congestive Heart failure. Robert, known as Bob to many, was born March 21, 1926 in Fairbanks, Texas to William Clifton Cooper and Clara Robinson Cooper. He was the youngest of 11 children which preceded him in death.
Bob grew up in Houston and joined the Navy during WWII. He was very proud to serve his Nation and later became a DAV. While on hospital leave during WWII, he met the love of his life, Etoile Opton. A week later they were married on April 14, 1945. They would have celebrated their 69th anniversary this April. Bob was a long time resident of Houston and relocated his family to Port Lavaca and the coast in 1974.
Bob is survived by wife Etoile Cooper, sons Cliff Cooper (Susan), Michael Cooper (Ann) and daughter Diane Cooper Musgrove (Randy). Grandchildren Yvette Snead, Bobby Cooper, John Andrew Cooper, Jessica Cooper, Ben Musgrove, 6 great-grandchildren and of host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and family on Monday, Feb. 10th at 10:00 a.m. followed by Funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Port Lavaca. Follow by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. in Houston.
