

Alfred Perry, 81, of Port Orange, passed away on February 1, 2025. Born in Birmingham, England, on July 16, 1943, Al moved to the United States in 1965, making this country his home. He became an American citizen on January 13, 2025, just weeks before his passing—a proud moment in a life filled with hard work, dedication, and love for his family.
Al was a skilled welder and fabricator who worked for NASCAR for many years, contributing his expertise to the sport he loved. Prior to his time with NASCAR, he was a respected foreign car mechanic, known for his exceptional craftsmanship and knowledge. His career was a testament to his meticulous work ethic, and he took pride in every project he tackled.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Beth, his daughter Lisa and her husband Joe Taber, his son Scott and his wife Toni Perry, and his four beloved grandchildren: Ashton Taber, Brayden Taber, Gracie Castro, and Colby Perry. Al’s family was the center of his world, and he found immeasurable joy in spending time with them.
Al’s wisdom and humor will be deeply missed. He touched the lives of many, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Daytona Beach.
