
Andy Zadylak of Daytona Beach (formerly of Aliquippa, PA) died June 6, 2021. On March 18, 1947, Andy was born in Sewickley, PA to the late Andrew and Mary (Seltz) Zadylak. Andy was 74 year old at the time of his death.
On June 6, 1970 Andy married the love of his life Connie Smith. Sadly, Connie preceded Andy in death after a 14 year battle with cancer. Andy died on what would have been their 51st anniversary.
Andy was a graduate of Hopewell, PA, High School, Youngstown University, and the Pennsylvania State Police Academy.
Andy retired from the Hopewell Township Police force in October 1999, as the assistant Police Chief.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, his maternal grandmother Anna Seltz who Andy had a special bond with, and his wife of 50 years, Connie.
Andy was a member of the local, state, and national chapters of the Fraternal Order of police. He served as the president of the local chapter of the FOP.
Andy is survived by: sisters Linda Bahnak and her husband George of Irwin, PA, and Patty Donaldson of Aliquippa, PA; sister-in-law Janet Walker and husband Joe, Jefferson City, MO; brother-in-law Raymond Smith and wife Rita, Morris, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Andy and Connie moved to Daytona Beach in 1999 and enjoyed the beach every day. Andy enjoyed playing golf, playing tennis and also pinochle, and dining at Our Deck Down Under restaurant in Daytona Beach.
A Celebration of Andy’s Life will be held at First United Methodist Church on Thursday, June 10th at 11:00 am. Friends may call from 10am-11am at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the First United Methodist Church, 305 Dunlawton Avenue, Port Orange, FL 32127.
