Catherine G Simmons Luzier

Catherine G. Luzier, age 86, of Port Orange went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 14, 2012.Catherine was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia to Calvin and Pauline Simmons on August 19, 1925. She grew up in Arlington, VA and graduated from Washington and Lee High School. In 1946, she married Harold D. Luzier and made a home in Alexandria, Virginia. They raised their three children there. After retirement they moved to Pennsylvania and in 1996, moved to the Daytona Beach area. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Port Orange. She enjoyed her Sunday school class and Harmony Circle of UMW. She read her Bible faithfully. Catherine, “MIMI” loved her family, her friends and her church. She enjoyed embroidery, cards, bingo and watching baseball on TV. The family gratefully acknowledges the loving care and assistance of Catherine’s care giver, Kelly Kayser, and her family. Catherine is survived by her son, Lloyd (Kay) Luzier of Port Orange, daughters Jackie Luzier of Orlando, and Janice(Roger) Bloomfield of Phoenix, AZ., and her grandchildren Heather(Mark) Bass, Robert Poll, and Jennifer Poll, and Sara(Jason) Theiss. Her great grandchildren include Matthew, Dylan, and Kaitlyn Bass, Mia Davis and Cooper Theiss. Memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Port Orange or Hospice of Volusia/Flagler.
