Cesar Julio Lopez, age 76, passed away peacefully in his sleep at approximately 3am on Friday, June 19, 2015. After battling Alzheimer's for over 10 years, he succumbed to several strokes.Cesar was born in Quito, Ecuador and passed away in Port Orange, FL.In 1958, Cesar migrated to Gary, Indiana from Ecuador, with his parents and sister. He opened an auto repair shop there just as they had overseas. Eventually moving to Chicago, he worked as a welder, mechanic and auto/truck painter. His dream was always to be self-employed and it was realized when he opened several thriving auto repair businesses. He was never one to sit idle and competed against himself to try new ventures and become more successful. He did well in real estate but his new passion was to continue the work of his grandfather, Dr. Julio Lopez. Cesar studied Naprapathy and homeopathic medicine which started his next phase of body repair. He opened several clinics around Chicago and helped many people. He decided to leave the beautiful weather of the North and moved to Florida where he opened a nursing home and continued helping the elderly until his own illness prevented him from continuing. He is survived by his mother Sofia, 99 years young, a sister, 9 children, 11 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He was the funnest dad ever, we will always love and miss you, "Papi."
