

Charley, as he was known to his family and friends, was born in Guthrie, West Virginia, on March 22, 1931, to the late Dora Mae and Denver L. St.Clair. He grew up in Kanawha County, West Virginia, and was a founding member of Grace Church of the Nazarene. Following his graduation from high school, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. After receiving his honorable discharge, he married his bride, Dorothy Mae Runyan, in 1953. He and Dot raised their family in St. Albans while Charley worked at Union Carbide, holding numerous positions throughout his career. Following his retirement, he and Dot moved to Daytona Beach, Florida, where he enjoyed playing golf and walking on the beach. Charley was a loyal Mountaineer fan throughout his life and enjoyed watching every football game.
Charley was predeceased by his brothers, Denver Leslie St.Clair and Robert Graves St.Clair, and his sisters, Virginia Lee Miller and Charlotte Lorena Heald.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy, two sons of whom he was extremely proud, Edwin, who lives in Merritt Island, Florida, and Alan, and his wife, Carol, who live in Charleston, South Carolina, and one grandson, Joshua Pierce St.Clair.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 25, at 1:00 PM, at Grace Church of the Nazarene, 499 2nd Ave., South Charleston. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM. A reception will be held for the family at the church following the burial at Graceland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Grace Church of the Nazarene.Shannon Maloney Funeral Home, Port Orange FL and Good Shepherd Mortuary, South Charleston, WV have been entrusted with the arrangements.
