David Lionel Masse, 78, of South Daytona, FL, passed away the evening of October 14, 2024. A loving father, and dedicated family man, David retired as a maintenance worker for several schools in the area, including Warner Christian Academy and Embry Riddle University. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1967-1969.
David enjoyed sports of all types – whether it be watching the Patriots, FSU, NASCAR, the Boston Celtics or Red Sox. He was a volunteer for many years at the Museum of Arts and Sciences, and was known for his friendly nature and jokes, along with a love for crossword puzzles, nutcrackers, and the outdoors.
Perhaps what he was best known for was his heart – and his faithful commitment to his family, including beloved daughter, Carrie Masse, sisters Carol Pollack, Michele Davis, Patricia “Pattie” Beaudry, and brother, Jeffrey “Jeff” Masse, along with many nieces and nephews. David was greeted in heaven by his parents, Hazel and Lionel Masse, brothers Lionel “Skip” Masse, William “Billy” Bursmith, Paul Masse, Robert “Sonnie” Masse, Raymond Masse, and son, Mark.
