

Earl N. Mast, age 88, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2016 at Emory L. Bennett State Veterans' Nursing Home in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was born on March 20, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York to parents Earl Sr. and Lena (Smith) Mast. Earl served 20 years in the United States Air Force spent mostly in Washington D.C. and Japan. He married his wife of 49 years, Jacqueline, on May 30, 1953 in Waterville, Maine, and the two later moved to Daytona Beach to live near their growing family. Earl worked several years in the clubhouse at the Oceans Golf Club in Daytona Beach Shores prior to his retirement. Once retired, Earl had more time to do what he loved most, traveling the country on road trips with his wife. When not traveling to the Grand Canyon or Niagara Falls, Earl also enjoyed collecting stamps and sports memorabilia, and following his beloved Atlanta Braves. He was preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline. Left to cherish his memory are his brother Richard Mast and his wife Eleanor; son Bruce Mast; daughter Rose (Mast) Lovecchio and her husband Ric; grandchildren Kristy (Mast) Persico and her husband Nick; David Gentry and his wife Rebecca; Jacob Mast; Tasha (Mast) Bailey and her husband Adam; Matthew Cholok; Michael Lovecchio and his wife Stacey; Joey Lovecchio and his fiancée Keri Hutchens; great grandchildren Kayla and Annabelle Gentry, and Emmett Persico. The family will receive friends Saturday January 23, 2016, 1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 4815 S. Clyde Morris Blvd Port Orange. A celebration of life service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Interment with full military honors will be held at 3:30 p.m. in Volusia Memorial Park, Ormond Beach.
