Funeral Service for Edward Helvey will be 6pm Monday December 29 at the chapel of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Port Orange. The family will recieve friends Monday from 4pm until service time at 6pm. Edward Helvey, 83, passed away December 24, 2014 peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. He enjoyed traveling, movies, country music and his social clubs. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers International Association Local No. 015, and a member of the local West Virginia Club. He was treasurer of the Port Orange Nazarene Church for several years. Mr. Helvey currently attended Crossroads Baptist. He was an Army veteran with a rank of Corporal, he served in the Korean conflict and was a member of the 141st Armed Signa Co. 1st armed division. He is survived by his wife Eva , married 56 years; three children, Stephen Helvey, Gail Frazier, and Diane Helvey; sisters, Grace Runyon, Florence Wilkerson, and Betty Keesee; four grandchildren, Walter Frazier, Jr., Skylar Helvey, Michael Helvey, and Van Peterson.
