

A celebration of life for Henry Oliver Vargas, who went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 13, 2011, will be Thursday, February 17, 2011, 3:00 PM at Clearwater First Assembly of God, 1739 S. Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave., Clearwater with the Reverend Kenneth Hope and Reverend Wayne Dery as co celebrants.
Henry was born in New York City and moved to Clearwater, Florida in 1976 from Ponce, Puerto Rico with his family. He proudly served his country in the 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean War. He received an Associates of Arts Degree in Theology and was ordained through the Church of God. He also received a Masters Degree from World University in 1975 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His passion was running and was proud of the fact that he completed 8 marathons, all in his fifties.
He proudly leaves behind to cherish his memory, his five children; daughter, Laura (Rev. Kenneth) Hope, Daytona Beach, daughter, Teresa (Darryl) Dew, Clearwater, son, Henry (Michelle) Oliver, III, Port Orange, daughter, Denise (Rev. Wayne) Dery, Clearwater, son, Jeffrey (Brandi) Oliver, Salem, VA; sister, Isabel (Rev. Mark) Brown, Alabama, sister, America Zapata, N.J., brother, Raymond (Nora) Oliver, Clearwater; fourteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
