

Karen Ann McDonald, 74, of Port Orange, Florida, passed away the evening of June 22, just days shy of her 75th birthday. Born in Boston, MA, Karen was the second of three children born to Robert and Hilda Goodwin. She was a dedicated employee with a strong work ethic working in the proof department for Suntrust Banks for many years, along with the Manager of Check on Hold and Receptionist at the DNA Center for Pain Management.
While she did not have any children of her own, she was like a second mom to her great nephews Dennis, Nicholas and Brandon. Instilling in them her zest and feisty nature and love for the Miami Dolphins. Karen’s passion for bowling had her on several leagues a week. Once giving her a perfect score of 300. She was an avid Football fan watching her favorite teams every weekend.
Preceded in death was her husband, Richard (Rick) who passed away in 2007. She is survived by her brother, Robert E. Goodwin (Maddalena) niece, Angela, Antonia and Nora and nephew Robbie. Her sister Donna Vita, niece Tracy and nephew Mark (Stacy). In addition to her immediate family Karen had many friends and family especially from the Massachusetts and New Hampshire area.
A Celebration of Karen’s life will be Friday, July 11, at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 4675 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange, Florida 32129
