Lola Hagen of Port Orange passed away suddenly on July 17, 2012.
Lola was a graduate of Landon High School in Jacksonville, Florida. After helping her husband Ronnie to put their three sons through college, she graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Nutritional Science. She then worked several years with the Florida Department of Health, where she was involved in the WIC program, helping to provide nutritional services to women, infants, and children.
Lola was a very active member of the Spruce Creek Fly-In community where she has been involved in many volunteer and social activities for over 20 years. As an avid tennis player and fan, she served as president of Spruce Creek Women’s Tennis Association. She was also involved in the Spruce Creek Garden and Nature Club. She was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed
Lola was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, R. Ronald Hagen, also of Port Orange. She is survived by her three sons Rob, of Jacksonville; Larry, of Ray City, GA; and Rod, of Merritt Island; siblings Joe Larsen, Dot Heilman, and Tom Larsen. She loved and adored her grandchildren: Sarah, Lillyan, T.J., Emily, Angela, Alex, and Chris.
Lola was a vibrant grandmother and a senior tennis champion that we all thought was destined to reach 100 years or more. Alas, God has more special plans for her. Lola always gave all of her energy, her smiles, and her heart to others in their time of need.
A celebration of Lola’s life, and all the love and joy that she brought to ours, will be held Saturday August 4, 2012 2-5 pm at Spruce Creek Country Club 1900 Country Club Dr. Port Orange. Condolences may be shared at www.WeLoveLolaHagen.com.
