

A celebration of life for Norman L. Duhon, who passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at his home in Port Orange, FL, will be 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange, FL, with the Reverend Frank Zammit as the celebrant.
Mr. Duhon was born in Broussard, Louisiana to the late, Sydney and Audrey (nee' Broussard) Duhon and moved to Port Orange in June of 2010. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Norman worked in the oil field all his life. His career took him from the Gulf Coast of Louisiana to the North Slope of Alaska and overseas to Egypt. Norman lived with his wife and children in Eagle River, Alaska from 1990-1999. He fulfilled his passions of hunting, fishing, skiing, and riding his Harley and he carried his fond memories and experiences of living there throughout his life. It was a place he truly loved. He and his wife then moved to Durango, Colorado where he retired and enjoyed the beauty of the mountains and valleys. Later he returned to his birthplace of Louisiana for several years before moving to Florida to be close to his daughter and her husband who are expecting their first child, his second grandson. He was a family man who loved life and lived every day to the fullest.
Mr. Duhon leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 37 years, Sue; sons, Lee Duhon, Durango, CO and Michael Duhon, Lafayette, LA; daughter, Kate Duhon Kessler, Port Orange, FL; brothers, Earl Duhon, Lafayette, LA and Wayne Duhon, Houma, LA; sister, Brenda Goulas, Thibodeaux, LA; one grandchild, Ashton Cole Chauvin.
