Patricia Marie Myers (nee McKenna), 82 passed away peacefully on August 2, surrounded by family in New Smyrna Beach, FL. She leaves her beloved husband of 55 years, Joseph S. Myers, M.D., son Joseph S. Myers, Jr. and Diane, daughter Barbara Davis and Christopher, son Christopher and Christina, son James and Tina, eleven grandchildren, brother John McKenna and Mary Davita, a niece, nephews and many cousins. Born on July 12, 1934 and raised in Albany, NY the daughter of John and Carmella McKenna (nee Pinto), she graduated from Vincentian Institute in 1952, and Saint Peter’s Hospital School of Nursing where she earned a Registered Nursing diploma in 1955, worked as an RN for several years, and met her husband. Upon getting married and starting a family, she spent the next many years moving around the country and the world as the wife of a career Naval Officer. She loved this role and the many opportunities it provided to host large parties. In addition, her half Irish, half Italian heritage not only made her an outstanding cook, but also ensured that she was always the life of the fun, boisterous parties she threw. She had a love of all animals, particularly cats, and passed this love on to her children. She was a devout Catholic, pro-life advocate, and very devoted to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pregnancy Crisis Center of Daytona Beach. Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on August 7, 2016 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Port Orange, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev.
