

A celebration of life for Susan Gail Cain (nee Mahan), who passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 24, 2011, will be 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 am until the service begins at 1:00 pm. The interment will be at Woodland Cemetery, Port Orange, FL immediately following the service.
Susan was born in Evansville, Indiana and spent most of her years living in Florida although she traveled the country in her childhood as a military brat. Susan was a 1978 graduate of Spruce Creek High School. She worked for over 30 years in the banking and mortgage industry. Susan enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid horse lover and competitor for many years. Susan was preceded in death by her father, Burnett H. Mahan and brother, Michael B. Mahan.
Susan leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, Robert Cain, Altamonte Springs; daughter, Kristen Girard, Orlando; mother, Linda Hill-Mahan, Port Orange; brother, Steven Mahan, Charlotte, N.C.; sister, Lynnette (Michael) Schervish, Port Orange; brothers: Paul Mahan, Orlando and Dr. Philip (Catherine) Mahan, Winston-Salem, N.C.; mother-in-law, Betty W. Collins, New Smyrna Beach; sister-in-law, Donna Cain, New Smyrna Beach. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, who will miss her greatly.
