Theresa M. Owens, 80, of Port Orange passed away March 16, 2012. Theresa was born April 2, 1931 in Brooklyn NY daughter of the late Eugenia (nee Pascone) and Michael Martin. A longtime resident of Atlanta, GA she moved to this area 17 years ago. An Artist, Theresa gave back to the community teaching art and raising money for children’s art supplies. She enjoyed traveling and cruising. On her eightieth birthday she celebrated by going skydiving. She will be remembered for her love of life and for the enjoyment she brought to all. Left to cherish her memory is her son Ronald and “daughter” Maureen of Woodstock, GA, cousin, Ana Chiappisi, Lynbrook, NY, grandchildren Thomas Graham Mickle lll, and Bridget Christine Mickle of Columbus, GA and her friend and companion Robert Hammes. She is predeceased by her husband John H. Owens. A funeral mass will be celebrated 8:30 am, Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church 4550 Clyde Morris Blvd. Port Orange, FL 32129.
