With deep love and gratitude for a life well lived, we remember and celebrate our beloved mother. She was a woman whose love for her family and friends was not only spoken but shown every day through her kindness, generosity, and unwavering presence in our lives. Her actions were the true measure of her love, and those who knew her felt the warmth of her care in countless ways.
She was the devoted wife of her husband, William James Swan, whom she lovingly cared for throughout his life. Even after his passing fourteen years before her, she continued to honour his memory with the same quiet strength and faith that defined their marriage. Their bond was a testament to loyalty, commitment, and enduring love.
Above all, she was a deeply devoted mother. She is lovingly remembered by her children Michael, Mark, and Monique, who were blessed to have her as the constant foundation in their lives. No matter the circumstance, our mother was always there—offering guidance, encouragement, wisdom, and unconditional love. She was the pillar of our family, the person we could always turn to when life required strength, comfort, or simply a listening heart.
She was also a cherished mother-in-law to Zoe and Patty, whom she loved as daughters and welcomed fully into her family with warmth and generosity.
Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, Mack (William), Payton, and James. She took immense pride in watching them grow and was deeply grateful for every moment she spent with them. Her love for them was boundless, and the lessons she shared through her example will remain with them always.
She is also survived by her dear brothers, Billy and Johnny, whose lifelong bond with her reflected the importance she placed on family relationships and staying connected to those she loved.
In the last five years of her life, she was also blessed with a special friendship with Glenn. Through companionship, laughter, and shared moments, Glenn helped her rediscover happiness and peace.
Our mother’s faith was the quiet anchor of her life. She lived her beliefs not only through prayer, but through compassion, humility, and service to others. Her devotion to God and her family is beautifully reflected in the words from the Gospel of Matthew:
"Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord." — Matthew 25:23
These words reflect the life she lived—faithful in love, generous in spirit, and devoted to the people who meant the most to her.
Though we will miss her deeply, we find comfort in knowing that the love she gave, the values she taught, and the faith she carried will continue to live on in each of us. Her legacy is not only in the memories we hold but in the way she showed us how to care for one another. She will forever remain the heart of our family.
A Visitation for Friends and Family will be held on Saturday, March 7, from 12 pm - 2 pm at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home - Port Orange, 4815 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange, FL 32129.
