Wendy Lynn Kocmoud, 66, succumbed from COVID and other complications on 9-24-21. A Chicago native, fearless and larger than life, there was not a person with more gusto for life. Self-described as “an old Hippie” Wendy loved her horses and her dogs. She loved the cruising life and especially the trips to Cuba.
Wendy loved big family get-togethers and doted on her Grandkids. She was an avid fan of the New York Bills, and could talk all aspects of football better than most guys. During the majority of her working years, Wendy was in management. A real “people person”, she loved working in the defense and construction industries. Several years ago, Wendy discovered teaching as a substitute. She worked at Burns Science in Oak Hill and at New Smyrna Beach High School. She was a favored & effective substitute teacher. “Miss Wendy” loved her kids…and they loved her. An accomplished chef, Wendy passionately followed the TV Food Channels and then created wonderful dishes with her own twists. In retirement, Wendy was active with breeding King Charles Cavalier spaniels. Several litters bear their origin from her Royal Oak Cavalier kennels.
Wendy leaves her husband of 5 years James Kocmoud of Edgewater; her Mother Marilyn Stuart of Palm Coast; her Father Ron Wrobel of Mount Dora; her Daughter Melanie Nasso of Sanford; her Son Chuck Maniatis (Natalie) of Winter Park; her Sisters Debbie (Brian) of Sanford, Cindy (Dennis) of Lake Mary, Linda of Sanford and her Grandchildren Sam, Zoie, Elaina, and Myles.
