Anthony Sylvester Petgrave

With great sadness we announce the passing of Anthony Sylvester Petgrave (Sir P), 66, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, passed away on June 5, 2024. He was born to parents Ronald Petgrave and Doreen Pryce, on October 11, 1957 in Westmoreland, Jamaica. He was the eldest of his siblings; Donna, Grace, Faithy, Jack, Jill and Reginald. He spent most of his childhood with his aunt Malou and cousins; Faye, Dennis and Michael.

He attended Cornwall College then took on the challenges of life at an early age. Anthony’s career started in Jamaica at Barnett Estate Limited as an accounting clerk, but was soon promoted to Management. After some years his Entrepreneurial spirit pushed his dream of becoming a business owner. Anthony sought several business opportunities in HVAC, Supermarket, Bakery, and Car rentals. His can do attitude landed him into Mining and Construction, and Trucking which he had a passion for. Anthony was most recently known for his endeavors in trucking and real estate in PSL.

Sir P. is survived by his dedicated wife of 45 years Ivy Chue-Petgrave; Children: Trecia, Kirth, Micheal, Kareen and Sue-yenn; Sons-in-law Andre and Josue; daughter-in-law Monelle and cherished grandchildren Mikyle and Miley.

Anthony was a family man and always sought the best for his family. He enjoyed the simple things in life like cooking, playing dominoes, tending to the garden with Ivy and spending time with his family.

The family has entrusted Aycock at Tradition with the arrangements. A Memorial service is scheduled for June 14, 2024 from 1 - 5 pm at 12571 Tradition Pkwy, Port St. Lucie, FL 34987. There won’t be a reception following the memorial service, nor will an officiant be present.
