My beautiful cousin April I remember aprils smile ,April was so bubbly always smiling ,every time we cousin (Johnisha,Jennifer,April,and I) it was always fun playing pranks jokes and hanging out, loved the summer time swimming in her pool, the times we had to watch ourselves when our parents went out clubbing 🤣 this were fun remember the time we stayed at johnnys house parents went out and we did our homemade ouija board im sad I didn’t get to see you sooner and we lived so close to each other God tend to take the most loving special people to early live you April until we meet again 😘

April was one of my closest and longest friends. She was more of a sister to me then my own. In all of the years that we knew each other, with the distance that we had never once did her and I ever have a disagreement about anything. We could bust each others chops about our football teams, but I never got personal. April was just that kind of person. Fun and goofy just like me. And I will see her again one day!

April’s Laugh
I’ll never forget April’s laugh. It was the kind of laugh that was hearty, contagious, genuine. It didn’t really matter what you said, when she thought it was funny she laughed her precious laugh and enjoyed every bit of whatever it was that you said. 
I’ll miss her so much, my childhood memories would not be complete without her. She was my link to my innocent past. Summers in Brooklyn with “Mama and Papa,” playing on the concrete playground in front of the tall brick buildings they lived in, swimming in Sheep’s Head Bay trying to catch whatever weird slimy creatures we found buried in the sand, and riding the colorful rides of Coney Island. Not to mention our visits to each other’s houses through the years. Leaving each other was always a spectacle as we cried loudly when we had to part ways at the end of each visit. Times were different then, but I realize now the beauty of those childhood memories. I understand now that those are the memories that matter most. They are not filled with obligations, work, worry, or stress. They are pure, fun, and happy. April was always a part of that memory. And as I write this and remember the beautiful soul my cousin was it brings clarity in remembering, those were the good times. The times I wish to re-create and cherish with my own children.  So, thank you, April, for helping me recognize this.
April was born in February, a Spring name in a winter’s month. When I picture this in my mind, I see a bright beautiful flower growing in the snow. A symbol of warmth, rebirth, and renewal even on a cold winter’s day. I’d like to think of April as that flower. She was sweet, kind, and generous. She was the kind of person that would remember you for the good that you were. She was peaceful, tender and so lovable.
April, you were the cousin that filled my childhood memories with joy and laughter. I’ll never forget your laugh, April, and I’ll never forget you.

I wanted to wish my family , deepest condolences. I knew April mostly as a young woman. But following her through family stories social media, she lived the way she wanted and with no regrets. I am sorry that I didn’t get a chance to see you  and you will be missed.  I know that Titi Gladis, Tío Miguel and Matt were there to greet you.
