Brenda gained her Angel wings on Sunday September 17, 2023 in Port Saint Lucie, FL surrounded by her family at Cleveland clinic, Tradition hospital. Brenda was born and raised in Clinton Connecticut. A beloved daughter of Russell Waterman and Ann Havran.
Brenda leaves behind her long time love Anibal Tirado, her children Brian Funk and Diana Funk, her prized grandchildren Christopher Funk and Addison Funk, and her sister (partner in crime) Diane Benas.
Many may remember her as integral part of the Jensen Beach, FL community back in the day. From her real estate office, Action First, possibly from riding her horse in the parades, or even when she would ride her horse through town to take him home for a bath.
She had moved back to CT in the 90’s where she met her long time love AL (Anibal). They both retired from The Lee Company in Westbrook, CT and came to call Port Saint Lucie, FL home, where her children, grandchildren, beach, pool, and no snow shoveling lived.
Brenda’s greatest love was spending time with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends, even better if that involved going to breakfast at Cracker Barrel (cause oh the shopping)! Oh yes shopping! We won’t talk about her purse addiction. She loved the beach and anything to do that involved playing in the water.
Brenda was the quintessential Mother, even to her children’s friends. Hence, why so many call her Mama Funk and their children call her Nana.
Her laugh was amazing and infectious, for anyone that got to experience it. I know you will carry that laugh forever in your heart.
A celebration of life date has not been set yet
Her wings were ready but our hearts were not.
